Modified Route: 134 km and 2,660 meters of elevation gain for the long route, 81 km and 1,095 meters for the short route
Important news for all participants expected at L’Étape Parma by Tour de France, the official granfondo of the Tour de France, scheduled for May 3–4, 2025, in Parma, along the roads of the Food Valley.
The long route has been updated: the new course covers 134 km with 2,660 meters of elevation gain. This decision was made for safety reasons due to recent heavy rains, which made some sections of the road impassable. The change removes the Cavatappi climb from the course but adds a new ascent to the Passo del Crocione from a different side.
The result? A route that remains both fascinating and challenging, but now more accessible even for amateur cyclists and cycle tourists who, due to the bad weather, have trained less in recent weeks.
A slight change also affects the short route, now measuring 81.1 km with 1,095 meters of elevation gain.
The new routes are online on the website: https://italy.letapebytourdefrance.com.
The competitive and iconic spirit that characterizes L’Étape by Tour de France remains unchanged: the overall winner will wear the Yellow Jersey, the best U25 rider will step onto the podium wearing the White Jersey, and several timed segments will determine the assignment of the other official Tour de France jerseys. The climbs of Rivalta and Passo del Crocione (from two different sides) will decide the Polka Dot Jersey rankings, while the Sprint Race just a few kilometers before the finish line will award the Green Jersey.
The granfondo start is scheduled for 8:45 AM from Parco Ducale, the heart of the event and home to the Village, open free of charge with an expo area, an exhibition on the history of the Tour de France and cycling in Parma, tastings, DJ sets, and meetings with cycling legends.
Registrations are open until April 30 at https://italy.letapebytourdefrance.com and on the ENDU platform.
